team

For now, here’s our core group. When we crew up, we add only awesome people. Maybe you’ll be one of them. Look for our 2024 feature film to hit the breakdowns in February 2024.

Hunter Lee Hughes

Founder

Hunter started writing and producing theater projects with Fate of the Monarchs, a multi-media piece exploring how the lives of five conflicted men intersect with the migration patterns of monarch butterflies. Since then, he’s written and produced two plays, The Sermons of John Bradley and Nathaniel Quinn, Filmmaker, as well as the short film Winner Takes All and the comedy series Dumbass Filmmakers! In 2008, Hunter performed an original poetry collection, Crack in the Pavement: An Urban Hymnal, at a live performance in Los Angeles and continued to explore a fascination with poetry in his directorial debut, the feature film Guys Reading Poems, released by Gravitas Ventures in 2018. For two years after the film’s release, Hunter produced and hosted a series of open mic performances in Los Angeles to encourage poets from all walks of life to express themselves.

Now hard at work putting together Fatelink’s second feature film, The Good Dark, Hunter still believes in the transformative power of the creative process, for both the artists participating in a project and for the audiences that eventually take part in the finished product. In between passion projects, he develops and directs branded content for select clients.

Jason Daks

Producer

Jason is a producer born and raised in Los Angeles, with experience in film, television, and theater. He got his start as an associate producer for ReelzChannel on the news-documentary special JFK: Inside The Evidence. Since then Jason has produced an impressive range of digital content, including award-winning short films like The Boy Who Cried Fish, Bullies, and An Evening at the Diner. Recently, he co-produced the film Demise for Blue Boots Entertainment. Jason has also freelanced in film development and finance, helping to arrange funding and assemble film projects. He developed an understanding of distribution when he worked as a sales and acquisitions representative for New Films International.

Jason started working with Fatelink in 2018 when he produced the theatrical piece Nathaniel Quinn, Filmmaker, starring Laurence Fuller, Blake Sheldon, Shayan Sobhian Rex Lee, and Rebekah Brandes. He also produced a range of branded content for the company’s clients, including mini-documentaries, commercials, edutainment clips and social media content.

He’s now producing Fatelink’s second feature film, The Good Dark and learning more about the craft of acting through his weekly class in Hollywood.

Daniel berilla

Casting Director/Producer

Daniel moved to Los Angeles at age 18 from Yuma, Arizona, not knowing anyone in California, but holding a strong desire to make waves in the entertainment industry.

He started his career in casting in the reality and game show categories, working as a casting associate on shows like Bear Grylls: Face the Wild, Dating #NoFilter, Kids Baking Championship and The New Catch before graduating to the role of casting producer for shows like Bar Rescue, Get a Clue, Match Game, Common Knowledge, Tug of Words, Windy City Rehab, and Master Minds

But Daniel’s first love for movies and narrative projects never left him. In addition to acting roles here and there, he served as casting director and line producer for the indie feature film Don’t Tear Yourself Apart, directed by Pedro Tavares.

And when Fatelink needed a talented, charming extrovert to head up crowdfunding efforts for the feature film Guys Reading Poems, Daniel enthusiastically signed onto the producing team. He successfully lead two Kickstarter campaigns as part of his producing and marketing functions for that film, bringing in the more than $60K needed to complete the project. He returned to the Fatelink fold in 2018 when he served as casting director and producer for the play Nathaniel Quinn, Filmmaker. For that play, he’s particularly proud to be the first casting director in Los Angeles to discover and hire Shayan Sobhian (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), just months after Shayan moved to Hollywood.

Daniel is now casting Fatelink’s second feature film, The Good Dark and looking forward to his yearly (now almost legendary) West Hollywood awards season party, when fun-loving guests dress up as characters from nominated films.
